Bokamoso Youth Foundation: The Future Begins Here

Young People Are the Bokamoso

Meet Oscar Baloyi

After passing his "matric" exam, this talented singer, actor and soccer player was overwhelmed with despair when he realized that there were no resources for his education or a path for his future.

After months of feeling lost and depressed he heard about the Bokamoso program, and became an active member of the sports and drama programs.

His portrayals of leading roles in WON’T HAPPEN TO ME and VOICES, the play about dangerous peer pressure, stunned audiences. His beautiful baritone led the Bokamoso choir in the anthem "Shosholoza," meaning "freedom is a train that will never stop."

Through the faith of Bokamoso mentors, Oscar replenished his dreams for becoming a sports journalist, and through the help of his American community will be studying journalism.
