Young People Are the Bokamoso
Meet Sipho Mokoena
Sipho Mokoena has grown up with two strong women, his Mom and Grandmother.
In spite of being a victim of crime, Sipho has pressed on with every opportunity, believing that his Grandmother is right: "Education will improve your life and make you a good man."
He recently lost her, saying, "My heart is broken," yet he has pursued his dream of sound engineering, and recently passed an important qualifying exam.
Bokamoso has been his lifeline for three years, helping him articulate his dreams and plan action, along with the careful mentoring of Jackie McMakin from Seeker’s Church and the financial support of his American friends.
His song, "Turn Around" has become very popular locally. He is a soccer player, and his acting as both the street child with HIV in WON'T HAPPEN TO ME, and the abusive father in THE TREE MUST LEARN TO BEND, showed incredible dramatic range.
