Young People Are the Bokamoso
"Anyone, and everyone, is welcome at Bokamoso."
I completed high school in 2008. I stayed home until the year 2011 when I decided to move to Pretoria. While I was living in Pretoria I heard about the Bokamoso Centre. One day I met a friend who was on her way to Bokamoso and she told me about the programs. I told her I would come to the Centre and learn more.
I traveled back to my home in the northwest and told my parents I was going to live in the Pretoria area because there were not opportunities for me near my home. I returned to Pretoria and began attending Bokamoso. On my first day at the Centre, I remember how quiet I was because I did not know the other youth. During my second day at the Centre, we had to sing and dance which was fun. I got used to the place and the other youth were so welcoming. We had sessions where we talked about the things that were happening in our community and how events influence the youth.
Anyone, and everyone, is welcome at Bokamoso. I love being at the Bokamoso Centre. It feels like home. If you are lost, Bokamoso shows you the way. I’d love to say “thank you” Bokamoso for helping us reach our goals.
